As Kaley Cuoco embraces her new role as a mother, she’s open about her parenting choices, regardless of others’ opinions.
The “8 Simple Rules” star and her partner, Tom Pelphrey, have chosen to allow their 10-month-old daughter, Matilda, some screen time, a decision that might not sit well with everyone.
“Some people might criticize me for letting her watch TV, but I don’t mind,” Cuoco told USA Today. “Matilda has already seen almost every Disney movie, and she loves them!”
Cuoco also mentioned how sharing these films with her daughter has been enjoyable for her: “It’s been fun to revisit these Disney movies. Some are new to me, so I’m discovering them alongside her.”
Cuoco and Pelphrey welcomed their first child, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, last April.
Cuoco explained her reasoning for allowing screen time: “Every mom has different preferences, and that’s perfectly okay. For us, it works well.”
She added, “When Matilda is restless and a Disney movie calms her down, I consider it a win. It works for us.”
Cuoco’s approach to parenting also includes avoiding unsolicited advice: “My best advice is not to take too much advice because every child is different. What works for one family may not work for another. Do what you can to get through each day.”
Cuoco recently revealed that she kept her pregnancy a secret while filming her latest movie, “Role Play.” She explained to Access Hollywood that she didn’t disclose her pregnancy to avoid restrictions on performing stunts and fight scenes.
In the film, Cuoco plays a former assassin turned stay-at-home mom whose past life begins to affect her current family life.
